Petit wink to Wils Voigt, who was our host in Delmas Haiti, with Natalie, whose birthday was yesterday. Wils summarized what she thought of our action on the ground last November
Hello to all the team Expe-Haiti mission in 2010. I wish you a wonderful new year 2011.
I also take this opportunity to thank you for all the effort you put into play to make Expe-mission a success. You did can not be done, but Christmas 2010 came early for many children both at school and Mark Bourque in the IDP camps Icarus and Gymnasium. They had a ball, shoes, decent clothing, medicines, toys. This does not seem much, but for every person you've reached out, it made a difference.
I'm sure you're wondering if your residence has had a real impact, or you felt discouraged by the immensity of the needs of Haitians. I'll let you think about it with allegory starfish :
One day at dawn, a little girl was walking on the beach and she noticed it was full of starfish stranded on the shore. She decided to return to the sea, one after another. A stranger approached her, pointed out the immensity of the task awaiting him and it did not matter ... Then, taking a starfish on the shore, she returned to the sea Looking unknown, she said: "For this, I made a difference!"
(Author unknown, adapted by Wils)
When you feel discouraged, think about it!
That 2011 is for you all a year that sees the fulfillment of your wildest dreams (except going to dive in one of your frozen lakes ... brrrrrr!)
